Park on Park Street | Bristol, England

05 June 2014

A few weeks ago I presented you with Park and Slide,
a giant water slide on one of Bristol's steepest streets.
This week I present you with another unique event that makes Bristol so darn awesome.

Park on Park Street was essentially a park on Park Street.
The entire street was closed and local businesses popped up with their own little garden/park interpretations.
I managed to score myself a £3 burger and a chance to see the inside of the Freemason building.
Needless to say it was a successful day in the sun.

Happy Thursday!

Tower of London

03 June 2014

I had been to the Tower of London once, back in 2011.
I absolutely loved it, and knew I had to take my family there when they came to visit.
Built by William the Conqueror in the 1070s, it was used throughout the ages as both a palace and a prison. Some of England's most notorious people in history lived and died there (Anne Boleyn for example).

The most striking feature about the Tower of London (besides it's incredible age) is it's location in modern day London. It's amazing to see such a modern skyline while standing in a thousand year old fortress.

Because I had already visited once,
I didn't seem to take many pictures.
Oh well!

Happy Tuesday!

Travel Tuesday

The London Eye at Sunset

01 June 2014

After three nights in Bristol, my family and I headed to London for the rest of their vacation.
We hadn't planned on doing the London Eye,
but we realized when we walked by at sunset there was NO LINE.
So we quickly bought some tickets.

My mom and I had done the London Eye before,
but it was in the middle of the day a couple of years ago.
At sunset, the entire city of London seems to change.
It was absolutely beautiful!
If you ever plan on doing the Eye in the future, do it at sunset.

Happy Sunday!
