You might have noticed my slight disappearance from the blog over the last couple of weeks. While I could blame my absence on life, I think I'll give you a slightly more exciting excuse: I've been traveling. From London to Charleston I've been hopping all around the globe! I am a strong believer in using your vacation time to your advantage. By strategically planning out a few long weekends I was able to explore some new places without taking too much time away from the office! It was a win win. Although my favorite season is fast approaching (the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back y'all), summer has always been my favorite time to travel.
To kick things off, I spent last weekend in sunny Charleston. It was the perfect girls getaway seeing as neither my friend or I had ever been. This city had the perfect combination of charm and history. I instantly fell in love! We flew in on Friday evening and began exploring immediately. A few drinks on a rooftop? Check. Dinner in the French Quarter? Check. It was easy to do the things we wanted. Charleston is a perfect example of a walkable city.
We woke on Saturday with coffee on the brain. Like many coffee shops, I heard about the Daily on Instagram. I can confirm the coffee is worth the hype. With caffeine in our system we headed to Rainbow Row.
Rainbow Row is a Charleston icon. Possibly the most recognizable street in all of South Carolina, Rainbow Row is the name given to the oldest row of Georgian houses in the United States. The houses were painted in beautiful pastels during a restoration project in the early 20th century. However, the history of this street dates back to 1770.
It's easy to fall in love with a city like Charleston. You can feel the Southern hospitality as soon as you step off the plane. There's never a bad time to visit, and according to one Uber driver there is an event going on literally every weekend.
xoxo
