Town Center | Sugar Land, Texas

27 August 2013

It's been awhile since my last post! Preparing for a move is stressful, especially when you're moving 5,000 miles away to a different country. Since I haven't been doing much of anything lately, I thought I'd share a few photos from my hometown.

Sugar Land is a suburb just outside of Houston, Texas. Founded in 1959, Sugar Land got its name because of its location around the Imperial Sugar Factory. Now, one of the biggest suburbs in the Houston area, Sugar Land has a population of 81,000, and is home to Minute Maid Headquarters.

Sugar Land Town Center is one of my favorite places to go when I'm home. It's full of quirky restaurants, cute boutiques, and fun bars. When the weather is nice (which is rare in Texas) it's a wonderful place to just walk around.

Kemah Boardwalk

10 August 2013

Hello again!
I'm back in Houston for the next 35 days! So far the only productive thing I have done is unpack.
And eat.

However, my old roommate/best friend was in town for the day, and I decided I needed to take her to a classic Houston 'fun spot': Kemah Boardwalk. I hadn't been down to Kemah in 8 years, so I was really excited to go. We walked around a bit and grabbed lunch at the Aquarium. Me, being a major chicken and all, refused to get on any rides.

Pictures from my lunch date with Lauren. Enjoy!

Too much food!
This is Ronald.

Happy Saturday!

Saying Goodbye

01 August 2013

Although I am not moving to England until September, my time in Lubbock has come to an end. I'll be spending the remainder of the summer back in Houston with my parents before making the move across the pond.

My going away dinner in Lubbock was small, since most of my friends have moved onwards. However, the few friends I have who are still in town are some of the most important people I met in my three years at Tech.

From my first friend at Tech, to my roommates' twin, to a sorority sister, and to my actual sister, these people helped shape me into the person I am today. Bittersweet goodbyes!
