Thoughts From Abroad | Part 21

07 March 2014

1) This week I have been working a lot on dissertation preparation. Lots of reading a research being done!

2) I have joined a book club! I can't wait until the next one!

3) I bought tickets for Rizzle Kicks MONTHS ago, and the concert was amazing! I've been to my fair share of concerts (try 25+) and this was by far one of my favorites!

4) My slight absence from the blogging world is mainly to do with the fact that I haven't done much lately. Don't worry, March/April/May are going to be busy months with lots of pictures and posts!

5) The only downside to living right next to a medieval cathedral is the hours upon hours of bells ringing at odd times of the day. 1:22 on a Wednesday? Let's ring the bells for an hour.

6) Mardi Gras/ Fat Tuesday is called Pancake Day here. While I love pancakes, can't it have it's own holiday? Why does it have to be on Mardi Gras????

7) Kid at work: "Your accent is funny."
Me: "That's because I'm not from here, I'm from the US."
Kid: "Like Lady Gaga?"

8) Wait, today was actually beautiful. Dare I say it's Spring?

9) If you live in the UK and want a free getaway to Bristol, like the Bristol Marriot's FB page for a chance to win a stay with them along with a ton of cool activities! I'm all about sharing cool events/competitions with y'all!

10) My best friend comes to visit on Sunday! Get ready, we're going to become crazy tourist. Many pictures and posts to come.

Happy Friday!
xoxo

  5. I find your posts dead interesting about living in the UK, because half the things you mention (like about the bread being small) I have never noticed, but now you mention it, it really is very small!!!! How are you finding the UK? Love your blog xxxx

  8. Okay this may seem weird but I felt like I had to say something about how I stumbled across your blog! So, I was randomly on Zoe Suggs blog and reading her post about her moving to Brighton and I for some reason decided to randomly read the comments and yours stuck out because you said you moved from Houston to England. Well, I'm from Waco, TX so I thought that was cool! So, I opened your blog and then saw you graduated from Tech. I am currently a junior at Tech! Also, I have an obsession with England and I am really wanted to go there to study abroad. So, I just thought it was very ironic and that I had to tell you! Haha
