Park and Slide | Bristol, England

BLOG EVERY DAY IN MAY | DAY 4

Bristol is one of the most amazing cities in the world.
I'm not just saying that because I've made Bristol my home.
It really is a city with uniqueness not found anywhere else.

Take Park and Slide for example.
When Park and Slide was just an idea circulating on the internet, I was amused.
A giant water slide on Park Street? Count me it!
But the citizens of Bristol made this idea a reality.
The online campaign produced almost £6,000 in donations!
100,000 people signed up, but because of the demand only 360 people were selected to participate.
However, watching the festivities was for everyone.

World, I present to you why Bristol is one of the most amazing cities in the world.

If you know me personally, you know I have major anxiety when it comes to crowds.
So, seeing as I live about 30 seconds away from Park Street, I decided to head out there early, before all the madness. I pat myself on the back for that decision. Not only did I beat the crowds, I had an amazing spot!
By the time I left, the entire city of Bristol had descended on Park Street.

Happy Sunday!

  7. It is one of the reasons this city is wonderful. It was part of Make Sundays Special which means things were happening all over the city today. You have to love that. I'd wanted to come and take a look, but I had too much work to do today so I missed out. I'm not a fan of crowds either though, so perhaps it was best I stayed away!

  8. Unfortunately I was at work all day so I couldn't make it out to the slide, but I'm glad you shared such lovely photos of the event so I can see what was going on! This makes me love Bristol even more.

  10. Yes! Im so glad you had a look. I heard it was MASSIVELY popular. You might be right about Bristol being one of the best cities, it has everything, culture, history and countryside. We wild camped at Whale wharf last night. 20mins from the city yet absolutely stunning and deserted! X
